Echo-Fragmente is a clarinet concerto written for two orchestras – one modern, the other baroque – tuned to two different diapasons. As if tossed and turned by these spinning sensations and held in a fragile stability, the virtuoso clarinet of Jörg Widmann will stand in the middle of this unusual configuration. In the "Symphonie Nouvelle" of 1737 entitled Les Elemens, the movement “Le Cahos” seems to have been written yesterday; Jonathan Harvey will also dramatise the elements of chaos thanks to a sound system which calls into question the notion of emptiness (in the Buddist sense). Ives pushes to its limits the intelligible and the spectacular. With this project, Les Arts Florissants reinforces its complicity with the two ensembles in residence at the Philharmonie de Paris for a highly unusual experience mixing repertories and unified by a certain spirit of transgression.A veritable electroshock.
