Despite the cancellation of the 2020 Festival de Printemps (Spring Festival), Les Arts Florissants and the Département de la Vendée are delighted to bring you virtual version of the programme, straight to your home, from April 24 to 26.

We are deeply grateful to the artists who have come together, even in their isolation and using any available means of virtual of communication to help us organize this simplified and convivial version of the initial programme, to share with you at home.

Friday, April 24 

From 9pm - Pergolèse Stabat Mater: Dolorosa 

Being stuck at home in Thiré, Paris and New York, has noy stopped William Christie, soloists Jessica Niles and Théo Imart, and the musicians of the Juilliard School of New York frome getting together to recorded this movement for you, one of the brilliant Neopolitan composer’s most popular and poignant duets.

Saturday, April 25

From 11am - Concert & Coffee: Vivaldi sonata

Though we cannot serve you coffee as planned, we can take care of the music! Elena Andreyev, on cello, and Florian Carré, at the harpsichord, have prepared for you a surprise filmed version of Vivaldi’s sonata RV 46.

From 9pm - Vivaldi’s Great Venetian Mass for the Annunciation: Gloria, Sanctus, Agnus Dei

This Vivaldi Mass programme created by Paul Agnew was recorded for harmonia mundi on March 2 and performed on March 4 at the Cité de la Musique. Enjoy audio excerpts from the recording accompanied by videos of the concert and messages from the artists.
The scores of Sanctus and Agnus Dei, painstakingly reconstructed from carefully selected works by the composer, are also available on-line. More info.

From 11am - Concert & Coffee: Vivaldi sonata

Prenez votre café « maison » avec une gourmandise virtuelle : William Christie, clavecin, et Théotime Langlois de Swarte, violon, qui interprètent pour vous la Sonate n°5 op. 2 en si mineur (Corrente, allegro) de Vivaldi.

From 5.30pm - Vivaldi Stabat Mater, Eja Mater, fons amoris 

Paul Agnew had given the soloist role in this programme to Jakub Józef Orliński, one of the most brilliant young stars in baroque singing, whom he met in New York in 2015 during a master class at the Juilliard School. See a video created in home confinement in Warsaw by countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński and pianist Aleksander Dębicz, along with a personal message.

Virtual Tour of the Thiré Gardens

William Christie, his gardeners Alain Berthet and Florian Hermouet, and photographer Jacky Joccotton have immortalized the gardens in March and April with a series of photos and videos, to prepare this virtual tour of the best-known and most secret spots at the ‘Bâtiment’.
