2016 temporary-garden competition for young landscape designers

William Christie has long been committed to the education and training of young musicians, and in the same spirit, with a view to encouraging young landscape designers, launched the Maryvonne Pinault Prize last year. For the 2016 edition, he once again held a competition for the creation of a temporary garden at the annual festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie.

The competition for the 2016 Temporary Garden was open to young landscape designers under 30.

The Temporary Garden was intended to accommodate concerts during the Promenades musicales at the 2016 festival, which took place from August 20 to 27 in Thiré, in the Vendée region of France.

Entrants were asked to design a contemporary garden on the theme of Arcadia to accommodate concerts featuring between two and eight musicians, as well as around 50 spectators either standing or sitting on the ground.

The winner selected by the jury of experts was l'Atelier GAMA.
