Since 2021, Les Arts Florissants has been offering a training program specially designed for young musicians: the Arts Flo Masterclasses, led by William Christie and Paul Agnew in the heart of the Quartier des Artistes, the cultural and artistic center of Les Arts Florissants in Thiré (Vendée, Pays de la Loire).

Masterclass " Editing a score: how do you edit music as a performer?"

April 24 to 26, 2024 in Thiré, Vendée 

Pascal Duc, musical advisor and head of research and score publishing at the Fondation Les Arts Florissants - William Christie, offers performers the chance to learn about music publishing by putting into practice methodological proposals for their own projects.

Masterclass "L'air de cour: The art of fine singing according to Bertrand de Bacilly"

 

From January 11 to 13, 2024, Thiré, Vendée

 

A 3-day workshop with Marc Mauillon, a major solo singer of Les Arts Florissants, to dive into the repertoire of polyphonic and solo arias in the light of Bacilly's treatise Remarques curieuses sur l'art de bien chanter.

 

Masterclass : "Song and music of the French repertoire between the 17th and 18th centuries"

October 18 to 20, 2023

A 3-day workshop with soprano Emmanuelle de Negri, to work on the rhetoric, the ornementation and the interpretation of a repertoire ranging from Boësset to Rameau.

Masterclass : "The eloquence of violin: how to make the violin speak and sing in French and Italian repertoires"

June 27 to 29, 2023

During three days, Emmanuel Resche-Caserta, First Violin of Les Arts Florissants, accompanied young artists in exploring the vocality in violin-playing.

During three days, Sophie Daneman and Béatrice Martin accompanied young artists in exploring "les grandes scènes de récitatif" from the French Baroque repertoire. 

Masterclass: "The art of fine singing...Handel"

During three days, Paul Agnew accompanied young artists to discover and explore Handel's repertoire. 

Masterclass: "The role of the conductor in 17th and 18th century repertoire"

February 12-15, 2023

A 4-day workshop for young conductors with William Christie, to explore the different aspects of the role of the conductor in the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Masterclass: "Solo viola da gamba and viol consort"

October 29-31, 2022

During these three days of musical practice, Myriam Rignol accompanies the instrumentalists in the development of their mastery of the instrument with pieces for solo viol. It is also a time to learn about the specificities of playing in a viol consort and to create artistic links by developing musical listening and reactivity.

Masterclass: "Marc-Antoine Charpentier and his contemporaries"

April 8-11, 2022

Through four days of ensemble music practice, William Christie proposes a moment of encounter and dialogue between musicians on the theme of French Baroque music, and in particular that of Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
